I’m off to Dylan Prime for the last NY birthday party… well at least for now. Today I had tortilla soup at City Bakery. I took it to go and ate on a green table in the park, beside The Shake Shack. Of course it made me crave a burger. Shocking, I know. But I didn’t indulge (the line, not the calories, was prohibitive). So tonight, I’ll get my fix at Dylan Prime… of meat and merriment. Then tomorrow, I’m off to discuss my book cover. Galleys are being printed any second! I cannot wait! It’s an exciting process, and it is a process. There’s so much more involved in writing a book than just writing a book. There’s marketing and PR to consider. Deadlines. Meetings. And it’s work, not lattes and laptop time in a cafe. Maybe it helps, my background in marketing and advertising, but I gotta say, it’s not fun. BUT, it’s a good problem to have, so I’m not complaining. Pushing myself to do new things, even the things I don’t love doing, for the sake of the good that comes from it… is worth it for me, especially at this prime time.
