Backstage at the Spring/Summer 2014 J. Mendel collection showcased at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Revlon Global Artistic Director Gucci Westman created a bronzy beachy sporty look, with dewy bronzed skin and a glossy brick lip. With a lot of pastels in the Spring/Summer collection, the sporty brick lip offered an unexpected pop of color. “Brick is really flattering on all skin tones,” Westman said as she mixed four Revlon lip products, pressing them into the model’s lip with her finger. “It’s a shiny brick, but not overly glossy.” Think Lauren Hutton, Charlie Girl. The Tawny Lip. “It’s always a goody.”
I wasn’t there for the fashion. I was totally in it for the backstage beauty. So, I made sure to check out which products were on the Global Artistic Director’s table! In particular, I wanted to know which non-Revlon products she’d packed along in her kit, because obviously these are ones on which she relies to complement the Revlon products we all find at the drugstore. There are certain splurges that are just worth it… these are they:
