honey, aww, sugar sugar

Marc Jacobs Honey Perfume
Marc Jacobs Honey fragrance doesn’t release until July, 2013, and I’m already singing it’s song. I hope it doesn’t smell of urine, as many honey scents tend to do. This just sounds deliciously juicy for summer. Yum. I hope it’s good and not too teen-bop, dot my i’s with hearts, sugar. Instead more of a dripping warm honey, golden and dreamy after the crisp pear and floral honeysuckle dry down. I miss Fuzzy Peach oil from The Body Shop, though, so there’s that.

Top notes: pear, fruit punch, mandarin
Heart: orange blossom, honeysuckle, peach
Base: honey, vanilla, woods

  1. Here I was thinking I didn’t understand the whole obsession with fragrance, then you brought up Fuzzy peach from the Body Shop. Fuzzy peach from the Body Shop! That brought back a lot of memories.

  2. Have you tried Jo Malone fragrances? Her Red Roses perfume smells like pure rose, not “rose perfume.” Mentioning that into regards to the last perfume post, by the way.

I just bought another one of hers, Nectarine blossom and honey. I thought it would be perfect for the warmer months.

I am also a beauty junkie, so I love these posts. :)

Yes, I have the Pomegranate Noir (eh), and I’m mad over the Blackberry & Bay–but… they don’t last on me, at all. I was excited for the new release of the baking scents, but I was underwhelmed. Since selling her company, Jo Malone started a new line, “Jo Loves.”

There’s also this new fragrance launch of an African brand, Tiossan, focused on driving positive social change for the women of Africa.

  3. I have been stalking the internets for the original Body Shop Vanilla. Bought fuzzy peach for 4x the price at Amazon and it was not the same. Dewberry was literally the “scentrack” of my life in highschool. The small glass bottles with the black logo and cap and TBS scent bar was literally the most transformative beauty experience of my life to date.

  4. I love Tobacco Caramel by Fresh, but sadly, they discontinued it. Can’t get a consistent scent from this company. Every time I find something I really like from them, they change their line :(

I own 3 scents by Fresh. Lemon Sugar, Memoirs of a Geisha, and Violet Moss. I might have owned Sake at one point too. I for sure owned the Sake candle and was mad for it. I use the Sake bubble bath on my kids. I am seriously looking for a Pipe Tobacco smelling cologne for Phil. I love pipe smell, especially mixed with Vanilla. Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille might be an option, but finding it and paying for it might not be, especially since I’ve never smelled it. I hate buying scents blindly, but when I trust someone’s taste, I will. Looking for an alternative. Spicebomb perhaps. Though I really want to find: By Kilian Back To Black (honey pipe tobacco).

      1. L’Occitane’s Eau des Baux and Karl Lagerfeld Kapsule Floriental both have lovely pipe smoke notes. The L’Occitane is perhaps a bit more cedary, but the Lagerfeld is a nice smoky vanilla. I believe it’s intended to be unisex, so you can always sneak a bit for yourself.
