Let them eat cake! A Magnolia Bakery cake, at that. My mother and I baked the beans a classic Magnolia vanilla bean birthday cake with cream cheese frosting, then I decorated the sucker like a May Day pole, because really, poles are just a good time.

  1. HAPPY 2nd Birthday to Lucas & Abigail!!!
…in some ways, cannot believe two years have passed…but your tale of driving yourself to the hospital to deliver still seems like yesterday in some ways, doesn't it?!
Be glad you are not here on Long Island tonight…it fells like the 'teens with the wind chill.

Much love to you and your family!!!

  2. I could do with some cake too :)
I like the ribbons, but no candles? The number of candles on the cake is how we organize our childhood photo's.
And that colour works great on you!

  3. I can't believe those teeny tiny preemies are already 2 years old. . .like Kathi said, I remember Phil's post about your labor, etc. like it was a few months ago. Enjoy!

  4. Beautiful pictures of you and the cake! Happy Birthday Lucas & Abigail, it's hard to believe they are two.

  5. Happy birthday Abigail and Lucas! What a great idea for the cake – makes it even more fun! You could do minis with cupcakes for their friends at a party someday.

  6. I have enjoyed getting to know Abigail and Luke through your blog for the past two years. Cheers to their continued success!

  7. Awe, happy birthday to those precious babies! I hope the celebration was all you and they imagined and more!

And, where-oh-where do you find a recipe for Magnolia cakes???
