edit

It usually takes me all of ten minutes to write a blog entry.  I rarely re-read or edit, save for the times I’ve posted drunk and edited out complete paragraphs and entire entries come morning.  Some writers I know have told me they’d never blog because they’re too precise, wanting to ensure each word choice was optimal, accounting for rhythm and weight.

My friend Dan is teaching an editing class at the 92nd St. Y for any of you who might be interested in sharpening your cutting skills.  Just an FYI.  And while we’re on those, I’ll be speaking on a writing panel tomorrow, Sunday September 18, 4pm, free to the public.  Click links for more information.
