You’ve seen High Fidelity by now; I’m sure of it. Okay, fine, you read it. Certain songs smell like your past, they evoke memories just as strong as the scent of your grandmother’s perfume. You know you were in a convertible falling in love last time you heard that one. You were with your friends at the beach designing drinks with left over mixers, and the song might not have been playing, somehow when you hear the song now, you remember that day. Or you got creative with that last song and changed all the lyrics for the tune for a camp cheer. If your life had an inner soundtrack that covered you, as best as anyone can be summed up, what would be your playlist? What do you sound like? You are, after all, what you listen to.

Jane's Addiction – 3 Days. Takes me back to my high school days driving around my home-town in my mom's giant blue Crown Vic with 3 of best friends, Greg, Greg, and Dan.
Sublime – Scarlet Begonias, and Badfish. Sophomore year in college. Smoking pot with the kids down the hall from me, Todd and Kevin. We'd sit in their tie-dye tapestried room listening to 40 oz. to Freedom, taking bong hits and playing games on their old mac.
Cibo Matto – Stereo Type A, the whole album. I would walk to the train, 10 minutes away, while it was raining, and listening to this album on my old "new" mp3 player – none of this fancy shmancy iPod stuff, gimme the Rio 500. Those days I would think about the girl I worked with that I fell head over heels for as I walked to that red line t stop.

ahhh….Little Silver Ring…such good memories from The Samples….mostly of Liz, falling leaves, and Autumn (best time of year, and great for nostalgia) Thought I would marry the women I associate with that one…she will always be the one that got away :)
I don't even remember what I was searching for now. All I know is that I have to thank google for poping your life into mine. It is now 5:30 am and I am still reading. When I was younger, I actually used to write down lists of songs that reminded me of a particular person or situation or time in my life. I wanted a handy reference for when I would brood about that situation. And, this was before itunes made the concept of playlists popular. I can't believe I used to have such an organized system for brooding. I somehow got out of the habit of doing this. Maybe, I should start again.
