  1. that was absolutely beautiful! this video shows exactly why i have always wanted twins…..an unbreakable unconditional bond.

  2. Did your Christmas ornaments coordinate with the wrapping paper? Did I see that right? If so, you have now become even more fabulous in my book.

Yep. That’s my psycho gene. I can’t quite help myself. I picked a Tiffany blue and red theme, and stuck with it for the tree and found papers to match. I mean, really, why not?

  3. Absolutely beautiful video, and what a great way to preserve the memories.

Stephanie, what software do you use to put this together? It looks flawless.

      1. Great clip, must learn how to do that with imovie! What a wonderful way to remember your family through the years. Your kids are adorable and so sweet. I find it so amazing that both you and Phil each have a little ‘Mini Me’, too precious.

Am also a mom to twins, identical girls. With an older brother to boot they are so much more than I could have asked for. I bet you feel the same :)

        Great year end review..

        1. Echoing this mom :) ALso have son and younger ID girls. Such a blessing.

Steph this clip is so wonderful. I must learn how to do similar.

Probably my favorite post of yours EVER!

  4. I cannot believe you taught them how to sign caterpillar in ASL! You are hardcore. They’re lucky to have you as a mom.

Aww, thanks. I’m particularly proud of “cereal” (finger running across jawline to represent the crunch of it). I get so irritated at people who say teaching your children sign language delays speech. It does not.

      1. Teaching your child sign language does NOT delay speech, as you already stated. I am a profoundly deaf mom- I taught my (hearing) son sign language from the time he was a baby- By the time he was a year old, he was speaking (vocally, not sign language) SENTENCES with big words that a 3 year old doesn’t even use. He just turned 4 years old last week, and has the vocabulary of a MUCH MUCH older child. He’s extremely intelligent, and not only does he do sign language, but he can spell a lot of words, use big words, and can even work his way around the computer.

  5. I love the video clip at the very end of YOU dancing! All so good. Love how you sped up the photos to the music later on, too.

  6. Lucas saying “thunder” was so priceless. I’ve watched it a few times now, and love it!

  7. So good, Stephanie. Thank you! Can you please post a link to last year’s video, too, so we can compare them?

  8. Love the photos you took of Phil (and how I’m guessing you made sure he was dressed to “match” the kids). I’m so like that, too.

  9. Made my Sunday. Plus, I love the music you chose. Especially the last song. Hope Floats, baby!

  10. So so beautiful. I have never met you, or your family, but I totally cried. –> Sap!

  11. I cried too.. Especially with that last song.

Thank you for sharing Stephanie.. Your children sure are loved.

  12. Chicken for breakfast — I love it! A girl after my own heart!

Such beautiful, happy and loved children.

  13. I big time LOVE the prepped out beds you got them! I must know the details. And yes, I to cried. Now, please spill about their room!

  14. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful children. You have a true gift when it comes to photography. Sure wish I had something like this, instead boxes and boxes of old photographs that are collecting dust in the attic.

  15. Stephanie, Commenting again on this.. I am up early with a bad cold.. I just remembered while watching your video something I had asked a while back..

In your pictures, the July 2009 set, Abigail is getting books out of a container, they are underneath a wooden table or bookshelf sort of thing.. Do you mind sharing where you got that ensemble from? The containers also?? I LOVE IT!! Thank you :)

Also – I LOVE LOVE LOVE the beds you got for Abigail and Lucas.. Where did you get those??

  16. Gorgeous kids…you look like such a happy family. I pray for you all and for Phil’s continued good health. This was just beautiful.

  17. Stephanie, that was precious, beautiful, perfect. Thank you for sharing :)

Wow, and it seems it was only yesterday, we were on pins and needles with you in the NICU waiting for updates. Lucas and Abigail have grown into these two strong independant amazing little people!! You and Phil are so lucky :)

  18. This was so fun to watch=] My sister has made video’s like this for us every year since my daughter was born, they are treasures i wil keep forever!!

  19. Sorry, had to go but I’m back:

And you know, really, it should be illegal to have that much talent, Stephanie. Honestly. Those photos are so beautifully framed, each shot captures so perfectly the mood and moment.

Phil has a hugely gorgeous smile, as do you and man, those babies? knockout kids. adorable.

Not a groupie and not loose with the compliments, especially since I am also a writer–you truly have a lot going on, girl.

The other thing that struck me is that we tend to see/hear about the relationship issues, but the photos capture a very happy family and a side that we don’t see so much of.

My take away is that if you choose to write about the crap, and let’s face it, it’s far more interesting than happy face stuff, I’m going to remember these photographs and remind myself that nothing is perfect and that you are all insanely happy a lot of the time

which is more than I can say for most people

    Blessings on you all.

  20. Stephanie….all I can say is that this video made my heart runeth over…and then some! Generous of you to share, and all of us readers are so glad you did.

  21. Incredibly beautiful. Everyone should do something like this every year, whether you have children or not. Visual reminder of what is important.

  22. I really almost cried with the shot of the three of you on the sofa and lucas and abigail had popcorn and balloons to the wrist…you looked like you were in heaven. I imagine its because you were. I loved the one of the three of you dancing as well.

  23. That does it, I need to take a computer class. I must learn how to share our special moments in videos like this! Beautiful!

  24. really cute, the best part is how Abby is feeding Lucas popcorn :-). Music well chosen, as usually. Looking forward to the next video!
